Lee Ludd Enterprises Group Membership

Renters can become a member the Lee Ludd Enterprises group. Normally I will send you an invitation after I learn you have become a renter. If you don't receive one, please contact me.

I will also offer a "Friend of renter" membership to any friends or companions you name.

Renters with group membership can perform the following actions on your parcel. Friends of renters can perform those actions marked with an asterisk (*)

  1. Set Home on group land *

    While standing somewhere on the parcel you rent from me, touch World on the menu bar at the top of your screen, then touch Set Home to Here. Once home is set you can always return to it by pressing Ctrl+Shift+H. (Note: Once  home is set it will remain your home until you set Home somewhere else. You don't even have to remain a member of the Lee Ludd group to keep your home here. So if you are running out of group slots and all you want is to be able to set Home, join the group just long enough to set home, then leave it).

  2. Change parcel name

    When standing on your parcel, open About Land and then select the General tab..

  3. Set landing point

    When standing on your parcel, open About Land and select the Options tab.

  4. Change music and media settings *

    When standing on your parcel, open About Land then select the Media tab.

  5. Toggle various land options

    When standing on your parcel, open About Land then select the Options tab.

  6. Eject and ban unwelcome visitors *

    If someone is unwelcome and refuses to leave, you can eject, and optionally ban, the visitor from your parcel. Right click the resident you need to deal with, touch 'More' on the Pie menu, then touch 'Eject' or 'Freeze'.

  7. Manage your Ban list

    You can remove persons added to your ban list. When standing on your parcel, open About Land box then select the Ban tab.

  8. Return non-group objects

    When you find an object on your parcel that doesn't belong to the group that somebody has left. right click it, touch 'More' on the pie menu, then touch 'Return.' Note This ability works on ANY Lee Ludd land. Please use it only on the parcel you are renting. Tenants have been known to return objects belonging to other tenants because they misidentified the parcel.

  9. Landscape using Linden plants

    Linden plants are in your Library. You can plant them anywhere on your parcel. You cannot plant plants made by non-Lindens.

  10. Set autoreturn

    If you set autoreturn, items on your property that do not belong to the Lee Ludd group will automatically be returned their owners after a certain period of time. If you would like to use this feature, then first, make sure all your own items are marked by the Lee Ludd group, then go to the About Land box, select the Objects tab, set the autoreturn flag, then set the length of time you will permit objects to stay before being returned.

  11. Receive Notices and view past Notices *

    Very rarely I will send out a group notice about something, sometimes about a griefer you need to watch out for, sometimes a reminder about how to do things. As a group member you can receive these notices, but you can also mute them. You can read notices sent out within the last 30 days by opening your group menu and touching the 'Notices' tab.

  12. Send IMs to the group (PLEASE USE WITH CARE!) *

    There is no option to prevent any group member from sending IMs to the group, but please do not do this unless there is an extremely compelling reason. Using it just to contact me, for example, is not a compelling reason. Warning your neighbors about a griefer running around shooting people perhaps is a compelling reason. Use common sense before sending out a message that might be received by as many as 80 people.
